I had moved to Battle Ground from Vancouver WA. as a 9th grader. I had the long hair that wasn't approved of with the local jocks who once took turns trying to provoke me into a fight.The odds against me were not in my favor.So I made a stand and informed them that who ever harmed me would end up in need of hospital care as my friends in Vancouver will make short work of them.I must have sounded good because they left me alone and later that day I was called into the principles office and warned that if any of his boys were hurt I would be in big trouble. From that day on I had plenty of room while walking the halls. I also never had to ride the bus because a new friend showed up at my home and offered me rides to school.
